Hi friends! I can’t believe that we are in the new year!! Goodbye 2022 and hello 2023! To be honest, this new year feels more cheerful and promising than it has in years past and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me! With that being said, I want to share my New Year Goals with you. I used to call them resolution, but I found myself not really stick to them. By calling them my goals, I set a timeframe around each one and I’m able to circle back to check any progress or setbacks I made in trying to achieve these goals.
In 2022, I’ve learned so much about myself including letting go of a lot of things that wasn’t bringing me joy. It has taught me that I shouldn’t take my mental health and my overall well-being for granted. I used to be the one that would stress about how to be there for everyone and would neglect being there for myself. So, in 2023 I am planning on zeroing in on my body, mind and soul so that I can be the version of myself. I plan to OPTIMIZE my sleep routine as that has suffered a lot in 2022 and reclaiming my space at home by decluttering. I am going to stay on track with my goals and really implement using a planner to help me stay more focused and organized. I will be setting and checking off daily and weekly fitness goals and frequently declutter sections of my house. Setting these small yet attainable goals will make it more achievable and less overwhelming. This year, it’s time to put me first and that is what I plan to do!
Here’s are my new year goals:
Create a Budget and stick to it – 2021 was a trying year for me and my family and I spent 2022 working on better spending/saving habits so that no matter situation may occur, my family would be ok. For this year I want to get my budgeting tighter, so we save even more money for the future.
Spend more quality time with my kids – they are only young for a short period of time so I want to make new memories with them as often as I can.
Stick to a fitness goal – my weight has been all over the place last year but some bad food habits and not being consistent has planned a big part in me not losing weight. This time around I will be doing things differently and sticking to my commitment to a healthier lifestyle. I will be sure to share my fitness journey along the way.
Be better organized – between my family’s activities and my own activities, I tend to have things overlap – which often creates a stressful situation. My plan is create the habit of writing everything down instead of saying to myself that I would remember. By getting myself into that habit of doing so, it will make it better for me to stay organized.
Minimize stress by procrastinating less – Most of my stress is self-inflicted because I wait to the last minute to get anything done so I will be implementing steps to get things done ahead of time.
Work on self-awareness and mindfulness – sometimes I let my anxiety about the future take ahold of me and takes me aware from being in the moment.
Go back to dating my spouse – our busy lifestyle has taken a hold of lives but we plan on not letting that be an excuse anymore in the new year. We plan on going on dates once or twice a month each month and I am very excited about that.
Plan self-care days as stress relievers so that I can reset
Hopefully, you find my goals helpful and can help set your goals for the new year!
